The venue's address is Piedmont Community Hall, 711 Highland Avenue, Piedmont, CA. There are a few options for getting there:
- If you plan to drive, there is a parking lot (here's the Google Maps pin) as well as street parking available.
- Another option is public transit: if you're coming from San Francisco, you can take BART (the Bay Area subway system) to the 12th St. Oakland stop, then catch the 88 bus.
- Rideshares like Lyft or Uber are also easy to get in this area; you can take a longer one from wherever you're staying or a shorter one from the 12th St. Oakland BART stop if you're coming from BART.
If you're traveling, we'd recommend flying into either San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland Airport (OAK). Both are reasonably convenient to the wedding venue location of Piedmont and to the city of San Francisco where we live. You can book a rental car if you'd like, but it's not necessary - both airports are connected to the BART subway system and the area has plenty of public transportation (plus, parking can often be tricky in the city).
We live in the southeast part of San Francisco's Mission District (24th & Bryant). The wedding itself will be in Piedmont, across the Bay to the east of SF. Other wedding events will be sprinkled throughout SF (including at our house!)
If you’re only in town for a short time, you may want to get a hotel in Piedmont or the neighboring city of Oakland; this will be closer to the venue but further from us in SF. If you'll be here for a little longer and want to come to attend some of the optional events before/after the wedding (or do some sightseeing), we recommend staying in San Francisco. Most hotels are downtown, and AirBnB can also be an option. If you pick a location that's close to a BART stop, you'll be able to easily move around the city. BART also goes across the water to the East Bay, just a short bus ride from the wedding venue.
If you have extra time to spend in the area, here are some places we love!
Food:
- The Laundromat (Bagels) — no sandwiches, just bagels, but boy are they good!
- Arsicault (Pastries) — The best morning bun and chocolate croissant in the city, if you ask us.
- Arizmendi (Bakery) — Their sourdough bread is Shuli's very favorite. Their pizza is also excellent - they offer a single, often weird, always delicious flavor every day.
- Heroic Italian (Sandwiches) — An unassuming spot hidden inside a wine bar has the best sandwiches we've found in the city (particularly if you're looking for vegetarian options).
- Burma Love (Dinner) — Neither of us had ever tried Burmese food before moving to SF, and we both fell in love with Burma Love. Probably our favorite dinner spot in the city. You might be eating some similar food at our wedding reception ;)
- Lers Ros (Dinner) — We both love Thai food, but it's just not what SF does best. After trying a lot of places that didn't quite do it for us, Lers Ros has become our go-to.
Activities & Parks:
- Mission Cliffs — The rock climbing gym in our neighborhood where we've spent countless hours.
- Precita Park — This park is small but mighty (and very close to our house). Go at the right time and you might see some live music; you'll certainly see a lot of very cute dogs and children.
- Dolores Park — It's somehow always sunny in Dolores Park, and it's always a party too.
- SF MoMA — We're suckers for a Museum of Modern Art in any city, and although we've been to the SFMoMA many times, there's always something new and fun to look at.
